Black, Starr & Frost Art Deco Platinum Emerald Ruby Diamond Charm Bracelet
About the Item
Platinum and diamond charm bracelets were the height of sophistication in the Roaring 20s and 1930s. They remain extremely popular today and work beautifully with our current preference for layering multiple bracelets in a stack on the same wrist. Wealthy private ladies customized the bracelets with whimsical charms--often set with precious stones like emeralds, rubies, sapphires and diamonds--which revealed their interest in golf or tennis, pets and favorite vacation spots.
The delicate platinum Art Deco rectangular link bracelet suspending nine exquisite platinum charms including a wishbone, a penguin, a cat and a parakeet, most set with diamonds or colored stones, some enhanced with enamel, signed BS&F for Black, Starr & Frost, measuring 7 inches long, weighing 22.4 grams, the largest charm measures 7/8 inch high, American, ca. 1925.
