This stunning, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 20k yellow gold with a 9k yellow gold pin. The oval shaped frame is ornamented with a hand-painted enamel panel depicting a portrait of a bearded gentleman in period attire, to a clouded sky background. The feature enamel panel is framed by an exceptional 20k yellow gold pierced decorated, rope twist and chased decorated elaborate frame. The frame is ornamented with eight bezel set round cut rubies, displayed alternately between eight individually bezel set seed pearls. The reverse of the brooch is fitted with a push fit glass panel, currently displaying a photograph of a young girl in period attire.
