Extraordinary French 'en tremblant' or "trembleuse" floral brooch. 19th century. 18 karat gold and silver piece comprise of three flowers screw together to form one large brooch. The three singular flowers, dance with a springy system, which would have originally had pins to attach and allow them to be worn as hair pins. 'En Tremblant' or "trembleuse", a French term meaning 'to tremble', it create movement in the jewel when worn. 16 carat Old European and rose cut diamonds. The piece is marked with the French 'eagle head' purity mark, indicating 18 karat gold. Marked - several French purity marks and '32598' likely an inventory number.
