About the Item

Edwardian enameled purple flower brooch. Very beautiful three-dimensional piece, created in America during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, between the 1901 and1910. This beautiful pin brooch has been carefully crafted in the shape of a lucky horseshoe with a pansy flower in the center in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with satin frosted finish. Embellished with applications of non glossy powder enamel with a gradation of purples colors. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details. It is fitted at the reverse with a horizontal hinged pin bar and a mechanical security lock to wear as a brooch and a retractable movable ring to wear in a chain Diamond: Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with 1 European rose cut diamond, 0.05 carats, white colorless G color, SI-1 clarity. Pearls: The horseshoe is accented around, with 25 round halves of white pearls. Weight: 4.95 Grams (3.17 Dwt). Measurements: 20 mm by 28 mm by 8 mm (0.79 x 1.10 x 0.31 Inches). Hallmarks: Electronically tested for .585/.999 gold and stamped "14KT". Note: The Edwardian Jewelry Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the rings were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer.
