This is a stunning antique Casa Prieto Mexican Sterling Silver and natural Turquoise Brooch in the form of a magnificent Bird of Paradise with a Heart on a Flower Bouquet. The brooch is a monumental 5 1/4 inches in length. The deep repouse work is absolutely exquisite. The brooch is from the famed Casa Prieto Ave Juarez 40 of Mexico City and dates to the 1940s. The piece is spectacular with stunning design and beautiful turquoise. The early brooch with its strong clean lines and wonderful details is a masterpiece of Mexican Silversmith artistry.
Casa Prieto (Est. c.1935 ) Casa Prieto was established in 1935. It is one of the most important mid-20th Century silver shops that created and sold silver jewelry, tableware, and other pieces at 40 Avenida Juarez, Mexico City. The brooch is signed Ave Juarez 40, Mexico Prieto 925.
