About the Item
Part jewel, part objet d'art, this combination frog brooch and pendant was inspired by and made directly from the brilliance and wonder of the natural world. A large, real orchid flower forever at its most beautiful, hosts a black and white diamond-set dragonfly and a large and luminous freshwater cultured pearl, upon which a lively rose gold frog, with white diamonds for eyes, has lept.
The orchid measures 8.5 cm wide and 7 cm tall and ranges in colour from butter yellow and warm mauve to a regal purple at the edges of the petals. An 18-karat rose gold hinged clasp opens wide enough to add this pendant to many necklaces, including most strands of pearls completes this knockout piece. On the back of the flower, a tidy, easy to close safety-style pin permits the piece to be added to a wrap, coat, hat or dress as a brooch.

The FANCS V workshop is situated in the heart of Sicily's capital city, Palermo. The jeweller is a three-generation Sicilian family business owned and run by Simona Elia and her husband Natale Vitale. Created by Natale's grandfather, FANCS V has grown from a goldsmith shop into a design studio where Simona, who trained in Milan, contributes signature collections to complement the custom pieces Natale produces for a dedicated client base.
