About the Item

A French Edwardian art nouveau flower brooch. Beautiful three-dimensional piece, created in Paris France during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1900-1910. This beautiful flower has been carefully carved from natural black onyx and mount in a 18 karats yellow gold setting with satin frosted finish. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details. Suited with a horizontal hinged pin bar and a hook to wear as a brooch. A round loop to wear in a chain as a pendant can be easily added. Weight: 6.90 Grams, (4.42 Dwt). Measurements: Diameter of 29 mm (1.14 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the French mark of the eagle head for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold. Note: The Edwardian Jewelry Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the rings were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer. Each of these rings is a work of art, showcasing a bygone era of grace, elegance and the royalty the Edwardian era is named for. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
