An impressive 0.02 carat ruby and sapphire, 0.19 carat diamond and 18 karat gold, silver set jabot style pin brooch; part of our diverse antique jewelry collections This fine and impressive fox hunting pin has been crafted in 18 k yellow and white gold with a silver setting. This jabot* pin is ornamented to one end with a fox at full stretch, and to the other with a horse and rider. The fox is ornamented with ten pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, and a single bezel set cabochon cut ruby to represent the fox's eye. The horse is embellished with a further 15 pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, with a bezel set cabochon cut sapphire representing its eye. The rider is accented with hand painted enamels, showing wear in keeping with age. The 18k white gold pin is secured via a push fit sleeve to the reverse of the horse and rider. * Jabot pins were initially worn when men's shirts had a ruffle to the front. Antique-inspired Emerald, Diamond Gold Brooch with Yellow Sapphire Shaped like a gorgeous feather with a octagon-cut emerald as focus-point, this Emerald, Diamond Gold Brooch with Yellow Sapphire is so exquisite that it can be compared with one of the sculptural masterpieces of the Roman baroque style, the ‘Ecstasy of Saint Teresa.’ The sculpture was inspired by a vision of Saint Teresa, which she described in a very visual, even sexual way. An angel plunged a golden spear into her heart, leaving her breathless and consumed with a spiritual pain so intense that she did not want it to end. This brooch is the contemporary transformation of the sculpture found in the Cornaro Chapel, in Santa Maria della Vittoria, in Rome. The artist was Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Why do we say this?
