Lynn Rogers Porter Sterling Silver Ebony American Modernist Fish Brooch

About the Item

Sterling silver, and ebony inlay modernist fish brooch created by Lynn Rogers Porter, a student of Earl Pardon while at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Brooch measures 1" by 2 3/8" and is unsigned. Suitable for a man or woman. In very good vintage 1960s condition showing minor wear conducive with age. Porter graduated from Dana Hall in 1951 and then Skidmore College in NY, the first college graduate in her family. At Skidmore, she studied jewelry under Earl Pardon, who was a lasting creative influence throughout her life. Goldsmithing was her passion, and she never stopped learning, taking classes and experimenting with new techniques.
