Robert Lee Morris Sterling Silver Saxophone Brooch

About the Item

Created in 1987 during the huge fashion trend for oversized brooches, this beautiful dynamic piece resembles an abstract saxophone, or even stylized vegetation. In the iconic fluid and organic style that made Robert Lee Morris so recognizable, this piece is quite bold and packs a huge wallop when worn on a coat or jacket. Gleaming silver, highly polished and very sculptural, with luscious thick edges due to the iconic sheet and wire construction Morris originated in the mid 1970's this is a statement for a jacket or coat. Inspired by the "Body Pin" the Morris did for Donna Karan's premiere collection in 1985, this beauty is a take off on the theme of folded fabric made into metal accents.
