Vintage Brooch Pin 14k Gold Pearl Diamond Estate Jewelry

About the Item

A spectacular vintage brooch pin made of 14 karat gold, featuring a pearl and diamonds. Being a unique estate jewelry piece, this vintage gold pin is designed as an artichoke thistle flower. The “petals” were meticulously crafted by using embossing and hammering techniques. Each petal is topped with a diamond. Two circled rows of diamonds are embellishing the top of the flower and hugging the pearl. The stem of the flower is high-polished gold. There are four diamonds set on a wavy leave sitting on the stem. This full of dynamic vintage gold brooch pin was made as a true piece of art, with close attention to details and extraordinary skills. This vintage brooch is made of 14 karat yellow gold (tested) and features a golden South Sea pearl accented with diamonds. The pearl measures 12.3 x 13.8 mm. The diamonds are round brilliant cut and single cut, champagne color and VS-SI1 clarity, total weight approximately 2.32 carats. This vintage 14k gold brooch measures 2 3/8” x 1 ½” (8.5 x 3.7 cm) and weighs 23.7 grams. About Vintage Brooches: Since we started making our very first steps into the jewelry world, vintage brooches and pins have always been our favorite pieces. Wearing a brooch is a smart, unique way to express your personality and style. Pin it to your lapel, scarf or a bag, and with just one brooch alone you can create the whole new fashion piece out of any garment or accessory. Some brooches could be worn as pendants, so you get two pieces in one. A brooch is an amazing jewel that is fun, elegant and expressive at the same time. About Vintage Jewelry: Vintage jewelry is something we can talk about for days. Since the subject is that big and has multiple aspects to discuss, we’d like to focus on the most important parts of it. So, what is vintage jewelry? Why it’s so appealing? And how to buy your vintage jewelry online? In the industry, different sellers and makers have different opinions on the time period when vintage jewels were made. Here at Nadine Krakov, we consider vintage as anything being made between 50 and 100 years ago. Therefore, all jewelry produced from 1930 to 1980 called vintage. This time frame is comprised of Art Deco, Retro and Mid-Century. Why do we love vintage jewelry so much? It’s all about the quality of making and - of course - the look. Vintage pieces were mostly made by hand or at least hand-finished while modern jewels are mainly cast. As the lifestyle back in the days was much slower, jewelry makers literally had more time in their hands. Skilled craftsmen honed their craft and reputation. They couldn’t allow a flimsy, poorly done piece to ruin that. Mass market jewelry didn’t exist at that time. Each little detail of a piece was executed thoughtfully and with the high quality in mind.

  • Chaumet Retro Brooch 18k Gold Diamond Pin Estate Jewelry
    By Chaumet
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
A French chic retro diamond brooch by Chaumet Paris made of 18 karat gold and platinum. During the Retro jewelry era, scrolls became one of the most popular design motifs. In this brooch Chaumet perfected the fluidity of the scroll shape. The designer created a great feeling of dynamic in a static jewelry piece. An abstract shape yellow gold part smoothly rolls into a platinum element set in the center. The latter is embellished with Old European and Old Mine cut diamonds. This high-polished gold brooch by Chaumet Paris has undeniable retro style. However, due to its minimalist contemporary look, this French diamond brooch can be considered a timeless classic. This Retro Chaumet brooch is made of 18 karat yellow gold and platinum, and accented with Old European cut and old mine cut diamonds (K-M color, VS clarity, total weight approximately 4.50 carats). The Retro pin measures 2 ½” x 1 ¼” (6 x 3 cm) and weighs 35.4 grams. The Retro gold brooch is stamped with Chaumet maker's and workshop marks, serial number, French hallmarks for 18 karat gold and platinum. About Chaumet Brand: Being the first jeweler to arrive on now famous Place Vendôme in 1812, Chaumet jewelry has been staying an expression of traditional Parisian style ever since. Chaumet pieces have long been a favorite with the French aristocrats. In 19th century, Joséphine Bonaparte, the Empress of the French and the first wife of Emperor Napoleon, was one of the brand’s famous clients and appreciators. Fast forward two centuries, Chaumet style is based on exploration of all things of nature. The brand itself calls it “naturalist jewelry”. The Maison’s designers use symbolism of plants, opulence of gardens and delicacy of grass to permeate Chaumet jewelry creations with the energy of the wild nature. In the modern world, the most popular Chaumet collections are the Liens, the Bee My Love and the Josephine. About Vintage...
