Pair of Antique Garnet Cufflinks

About the Item

A pair of antique garnet cufflinks, each cufflink with two oval cabochon-cut garnets set in gold back and connected by clip fitting, bearing Austro-Hungarian hallmarks for 14ct gold, circa 1880, measuring approximately 2.2 x 1.2cm, gross weight 18.1 grams. Unmarked tested as 14ct gold.This pair of cufflinks are in very good condition,slight abrasion to garnets consistent with age and wear. These handsome garnet cufflinks come from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Featuring wonderful cabochon-cut garnets of a bright and deep red colour, these cufflinks are a perfect accessory. These cufflinks were made in Kosice in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, today's Slovakia.
