Victorian Enamel Gold Dog Portraits Cufflinks
About the Item
A pair of Victorian 18ct gold cufflinks enamelled with four different dog portraits, the oval links measuring approximately 17 x 13mm, figure of eight link connections, hallmarked Birmingham 1889, signed with maker's monogram JG entwined, gross weight approximately 10.2 grams (pair).
These Victorian enamel cufflinks are in very good condition , with minimal signs of wear
These charming cufflinks are from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Featuring four different dog portraits, these cufflinks were made in 1889 and were perhaps worn by the owner of these dogs to keep his beloved pets close. Each dog is wonderfully detailed, portraying the personality and nature of each. Delightful and handsome, these cufflinks are the perfect accessory for a dog lover.
