Victorian Sterling Silver & 14K Gold Diamond Leaf Earrings
About the Item
These Victorian era diamond leaf earrings are sterling silver front and gold back. They are exquisitely made with remarkable details and craftsmanship. Each earring contains 32 small rose cut diamonds that make up an elongated leaf. The diamonds have an unusual square shape of rose cut that are not often seen, and are beautifully set along the curling leaf. The branch is made of gold, tested to 14k.
These earrings have clip back omega backs, making this design even more versatile with many options for placement along the ear lobe. Omega backs are very secure. The gold leaves are Victorian, but the omega backs were probably added in the 1970's to make the earrings functional for contemporary use.
The earrings weigh approximately 5.8 grams combined. Each earring measures 1 1/8" x 3/4" at its widest points. The diamonds are approximately 1.5mm. There is approximately .60 of a carat total diamond weight in the earrings.
Circa 1890, these earrings are a fine example of the naturalistic style of jewelry during this era, which took inspiration from the natural world.
