Edwardian Pair of Pearl and Diamond Earrings
About the Item
An Edwardian pair of pearl and diamond earrings, each earring consisting of a pearl, accompanied by GCS report stating to be natural saltwater, measuring approximately 4.5mm, surrounded by ten transition-cut diamonds, suspended by a chain set with two larger transition-cut diamonds, total diamond weight approximately 1.40 carats, all fine millegrain-set in platinum, fitted with 9ct gold screw fittings, circa 1915, measuring approximately 2.9 x 1cm, gross weight 3.2 grams.
Unmarked tested as Platinum (earrings) and 9ct Gold (screw back fittings). A pair of Edwardian natural pearl and diamond drop earrings in Good condition
A delightful pair of Edwardian pearl and diamond earrings from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Typical of the classic ‘white’ theme of the period, these lovely earrings combine luminous precious pearls and diamonds set with millegrain, a technique involving the tooling of minute beads around the diamond’s setting edge. This gives the earrings a delicate, refined quality.
