About the Item

Refined Monique Vedie Talosel or resin clip-on earrings. They feature a geometric dangling shape with frosted and mirrored textured patterns in pale yellow color. The fastening clips at the back are marked "depose." Measurements: 2.75 in. long (6.9 cm) x 1.44 in. wide (3.7 cm) About the designer: Monique Vedie was born in the 1920s and has been a student of Line Vautrin in Paris, where she learned her Talosel process. When she established her company, Vedié designed cellulose acetate jewelry with rich colors, mostly fruits, flowers, and a few characters. In the beginning, the look of her pieces was very similar to Vautrin's work. All her jewelry collections are hand-made and crafted in her studio. She never signed her creations, but the style is unique and highly recognizable. Before retiring in 1992, she worked with many prestigious Parisian fashion houses like Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. TALOSEL is a material created by Line Vautrin, made of synthetic resin elaborate at the end of WWII. This 1950's patented term is an acronym for aceTAte de celluLOSe ELabore (Elaborate Cellulose Acetate).
