A pair of anemone earrings by Ilgiz F, the stamen encrusted with black diamonds weighing 0.46 carats in total, surrounded by red champlevé enamelled petals, each flowerhead suspending a faceted onyx drop weighing 4.5 carats in total, all in yellow gold made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, hallmarked 18ct gold, London, measuring approximately 3x1.8cm 1 3/16"x 11/16" in length, gross weight 13.7 grams, This exquisite pair of earrings comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and was made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. The red anemone flower is highly symbolic in many cultures, and in Ancient Greek mythology, it is the flower that Adonis became after he died in the arms of his lover, Aphrodite.
