This is very rare pair of early Antique Georgian - Victorian Dangle Drop Day Night Earrings in 18 Karat Gold with a stunning flower motif and a dramatic 2 1/2 inches long. These antique earrings are of the highest quality. They have extraordinary design with three articulated sections. The earrings are Day and Night earrings meaning that the lower portion is made to be removable so that you may wear only the top portion if desired. The earrings are Spanish gold work from the 19th Century. The exquisite gold work is characteristic of the superb Spanish jewelers of the 18th and 19th century who created very special jewels with eternal appeal. The earrings are adorned with repousse, engraved and bloomed gold adornment. It is very rare to find early earrings with such fabulous size! The earrings hang down 2 1/2 inches in a shimmer of gold with the open work and flower motif creating a magical jewel. The lovely three dimensional design of the earrings give them wonderful depth which enhances their beauty from all angles when hanging from the ear.
The top portions are delicate delightful jewels when worn alone.
The center sections have the beautiful large flower motif in the center.
The terminal sections continue down to a leaf motif at the base.
Each section is articulated allowing the earrings to dangle beautifully from the ear. The wonderful articulated design of these earrings with the open work and floral adornment gives them a delightful airy effect while exhibiting very fine early Victorian style.
The earrings are 18 Karat Gold. They hang beautifully from the ear.
The earrings are 2 1/2 inches (45mm) long from the top of the hooks. The lower portions are 3/4 inch (18m) wide.
The top portion when worn alone is 3/4 inch (20mm) long and 3/8 inch (11mm) wide.
The earrings are 10mm deep.
Together the earrings weigh 12 grams.
