Vintage Les Bernard Gold Etruscan Statement Earrings
About the Item
These vintage gold statement earrings were made by Les Bernard in the 1980s. The etching and sculptural details are a marriage of Etruscan and Pre-Columbian jewelry styles. I love that each individual drop and charm connects on its own ring, allowing these earrings to assume a graceful movement. Les Bernard was found in 1963, and is considered a pioneer in the field of high quality costume jewelry, creating designs that went on to influence the runway jewelry at houses like Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy. Despite their size, these earrings are lightweight and comfortable— they really feel weightless on the ear, while having a very secure closure. (This is the case with most vintage clip-ons compared to modern jewelry, because of the quality that went into their hand-made construction.) These earrings are signed LES BERNARD, and are finished with a clip-on lever back. They measure 8.5 cm long x just shy of 3 cm at widest point.
