About the Item
Naturally-colored South Sea Keshi, baroque Tahitian, luminous Akoya, and Chinese freshwater pearls are strung together with glassy aquamarine and tourmaline crystals to create a luxuriously long -36"- and effortlessly beautiful necklace that you will never tire of wearing. The simple gilded silver hook-and-eye clasp can be worn around the back or off to the side. You can wear this stunning, one-of-a-kind necklace full-length, doubled, or even wrapped several times around your wrist as a bracelet. Layer it with your favorite South Sea or Akoya pearl necklace for an instant update to your jewelry wardrobe.
The pearls are all high-quality and were carefully chosen for their beauty and character. Rich eggplant tones combine with pewter, pink, green, silver, and gold to create a statement necklace that doesn't overpower. I love this piece. It's so well-made and Keshi pearls, as you probably already know, are an accident of the pearl culturing process that results in a free-spirited, 100% nacre pearl. In composition, Kwshi pearls are identical to natural, uncultured pearls. But because they are an accidental side-effect of the culturing process, they must also be considered "cultured." But that is truly semantics because Keshi pearls are every bit as "real" as any natural, uncultured pearl because they are both made of the same miraculous, luminous stuff. And because they are solid nacre, this is a sturdy necklace you will be able to wear every day and it's still going to look amazing in five years. Pearls can actually be pretty rugged, certainly more so than people think.
