Patricia Von Musulin Gold on Sterling Silver Necklace
About the Item
Presented is an elegant and eye catching necklace from famous jewelry designer Patricia Von Muslin. The necklace is from the 1980s. It has three rows of 8 mm size beads with a large and sculptural central abstract pendant in the front. Von Musulin is known for this particular sculptural design piece. It is her signature designs used in other necklaces. The pendant is three dimensional measuring 1.63 inches high, 2 inches wide and 1 inch deep. The three strands meet in the back at lightly curved top rectangular hook and eye clasp measuring .88 of an inch wide and 1.5 inches log when clasped. The back of the pendant and the back of the hook clasp are stamped with Von Musulin, Sterling and 925. The necklace has a wearable length of 16 inches and is very very fine condition with very little wear. Gold vermeil is bright and shiny.
Patricia Von Musulin, is a jeweler and industrial designer based in New York city. Patricia started her company in 1976 and immediately received notice from the press and major brands for her bold and luxurious jewelry designs. She worked extensively to redefine the notion of “accessories”. Her bold work has been featured in international advertising campaigns, countless magazines as well as on both American and Europeans runway. Several of her pieces are exhibited in permanents collections in Museums. Collections: "The Metropolitan Museum of Art", "The Boston Museum of Fine Arts", "The National Museum of American History of the Smithsonian Institution" as well as "The Museum at the Fashion institute of Technology".
