Marina Bulgari left the family firm to found her own house in 1976, attracting independent women such as Princess Grace and others who made purchasing decisions for themselves. While she invented new cuts of gems and worked on the leading edge of contemporary aesthetics, she maintained her family's focus on superb engineering and construction.
