An Extraordinary Antique Colombian Emerald Pendant
About the Item
An extraordinary antique pendant of prestigious provenance (refer to certificate in pictures), manufactured in the first half of the 19th century, presenting a unique Colombian emerald weighing 87.50 cts, sided by old mine cut diamonds weighing a total of 12cts, and, if desired, by a matching old mine cut diamond riviere weighing a total of 20cts.
The item was acquired by Nikolaus Esterhazy around 1850 in Rome. For generations the pendant was worn to important events. The last time by Marie-Henriette, nèe Ziehy, who wore it in 1916 to the coronation of Karl I, Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary.
