Iradj Moini Natural Golden Citrine, Smokey Topaz & Quartz Mulit Strand Necklace
About the Item
A stunning necklace of natural semi precious stones by famed jewelry designer Iradj Moini. One end of the necklace starts with three strands while the other end of the necklace starts with five strands. The strands are comprised of faceted irregular shaped natural golden citrines and smokey topaz stone beads with small gold tone spacer beads. The top strand goes from end to end. The other strands start out single, meet at a large mounted oval faceted topaz or citrine stone and continue as a double strand to opposite end. The large clasp is comprised of five very large matching citrine and topaz gemstones in faceted oval, emerald and cabochon cuts. The necklace is 17 inches long laid flat. It may be worn as such or twisted, as preferred by the designer Iradj. The large gem stone clasp is 2.25 inches wide and 2.5 inches long. Very very good to fine condition.
Iradj Moini has designed jewelry in New York since 1989. By the late 1980s, his eye-catching designs walked the runway for Oscar de la Renta, where he creatively designed and directed the catwalk jewelry for a decade. With worldwide collectors and fans alike, his jewelry has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as part of Iris Apfel’s collection, as well as being featured in the Trop Exhibit with Barbara Berger at the Louvre in Paris where he now has three pieces in their permanent collections. Ever since bridging out on his own, Iradj’s creations quickly developed a prestigious clientele and, through considerable demand, has reached retailers around the globe, like specialty store Bergdorf Goodman.

Lastly, in 1979, the company name changed once more to Ellen Designs. Their designs are similar to those of Miriam Haskell in the use of hand wired seed beads. This style of jewelry was very popular in the 1940s and 50s.
