Night-blooming jasmine glows in the moonlight, and in the courtly paradise gardens of ancient India, romance was allowed to blossom. Bedecked in Jasmine Garden, inlaid in gold and exquisite motifs, heads will surely turn at every moment.
This stunning pendant is from Agaro Jewels' Roya collection. Roya, meaning 'dreams' in Persian, is a collection of reversible pendants that are modern heirlooms made with traditional artistry, drawing inspiration from ancient islamic motifs, but displaying contemporary elegance and style. Each piece in the collection is entirely hand engraved and enameled with hot fired glass enamel using an ancient 17th century jewelry making art from the ateliers of the Mughal Court. The jewelry that was produced in these Mughal courts was always made using gold at its very purest (22K and higher), delicately wrought and brilliantly fused with magnificent meenakari, or enameling. It was said even Paris could not paint gold to the standard produced within these Mughal ateliers.
Today, Agaro jewelry is made using these same traditions and techniques passed down through generations. The Agaro artisans, many of whom can trace their families back to the Mughal ateliers, create authentically beautiful jewelry with a contemporary twist. Although each Roya pendant is unique, they all share the same symbolism. The traditional flower-motifs in enamel, based on the ancient indo-islamic symbols representing the fullness of life, celebrate the abundance of the natural world, and the vastness of potential waiting to be awakened within you.
