The front of this rare locket has a christogram and the greek letters Alpha and Omega carved in relief and highlighted with black enamel. The locket has a bible verse inscribed on the reverse.
The inscription is written in german and is a verse from the 2. book of Samuel, chapter 7, verse 9 :
"Ich bin mit Dir gewesen wo Du hingegangen bist"
"I have been with you wherever you have gone"
The locket is dated 2nd Jan 1861.
