Victorian Pearl and Diamond Oval Star Pendant Brooch
About the Item
A Victorian pearl and diamond oval star pendant brooch, the central half-pearl with pair of old-cut and rose-cut diamonds surrounded by a row of half-pearls, framed by alternating rays of diamonds and pearls, estimated total diamond weight 3.40 carats, with fittings to covert to brooch or pendant, all mounted in 18ct yellow gold, circa 1860, measuring approximately 4.2 x 3.4cm, gross weight 17.9 grams.
This Victorian brooch is in excellent condition for its age. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold.
A lovely and delicate Victorian pendant brooch from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This piece can be worn as either a pendant or brooch, and follows in the Victorian tradition of jewellery with celestial motifs. The old-cut and rose-cut diamonds on this piece throw light wonderfully, and this eye-catching and lovely pendant and brooch would be perfect either on a chain or worn on a jacket lapel.
