About the Item
Victorian Turquoise, Natural Pearl, and Enamel Lily of the Valley Locket Victorian turquoise and natural pearl enamel locket was made c. 1860 in England. The top layer shows a large spray of turquoise and pearl Lily of the Valley. All gems are intact evidence of this being an important piece of jewelry to the family who owned it. A photograph of a gentleman is placed in the locket. Just open the frame and replace it with your memento. Lily of the Valley is given to the one you love on May Day. In the Language of Flowers known by Victorians the flower symbolizes love, purity, humility and happiness. It is also used to honor one who has passed on. This locket was likely a memorial jewel for the man whose photo appears within. Perfect condition. 2 1/2 inches long. 1 1/2 in wide.
