1960s Cartier Alarm Desk Clock
About the Item
Cartier desk alarm clock, the movement by Luxor, Swiss, made circa 1960's, is a gilt-brass and painted 8-day going desk clock with alarm and decorative Louis XV style brass handle. The 3-1/4" x 5-3/4 x 2-1/2" clock has top, sides and base painted black, hinged back door with elaborate cut-out scrolled circular relief, and brass feet. The elaborate two-tone champagne dial features cut-out acanthus leaf background, with matte silver hour reserve with painted black roman numerals and fleur-de-lis, the dial signed Cartier and Luxor, with painted black Louis XVI hands and gilt alarm hand. The mechanical manual wind movement is warrantied by Aaron Faber for 12 months.
