Old or Antique Italian Silver & Enamel Compact with its Original Box
About the Item
A fine antique Italian compact.
In 800 silver.
With enamel decoration depicting two women in a forest with a dog - one playing a guitar while the other reads.
Etched with geometric patterns in the silver.
Together with it's (apparent) original box.
Simply a wonderful compact!

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is a spot of loss to the enamel in the upper left quadrant, and cracks & losses to the glass and silvering of the mirror. The original powder screen is still present and there is a significant amount of persistent green tarnish to the interior under the screen. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
Marks:
800 for silver fineness and with an Italian maker's mark.
