THIS IS A SUPERB ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN VIENNA BRONZE OF TWO DACHSHUND DOGS WALKING UNDER AN UMBRELLA.
This wonderful antique Austrian Vienna Bronze (Bronze de Vienne, Wiener Bronze, Cold Painted Bronze) dates to circa 1900-1920. The bronze is of the highest quality of Vienna Bronzes with superb modeling and expression. The bronze is very possibly made by Bergmann although it is not signed.
It features the most wonderful pair of dachshund dogs.
They walk arm in arm. The female dog holds her tail. The male holds the fabulous red green and yellow umbrella. The expressions on the faces of the dogs are so full of life and the anatomical details are extraordinary. The paint is in wonderful condition. They are such a delightful pair!
The figure is 2 1/4 inches (5.5 cm) tall. The bronze is solid.
