0.80 Carat Abstract Openwork Leafy Diamond Ring in 18 Karat White Gold
About the Item
This one-of-a-kind ring was made by Eytan Brandes for a customer who traded it in a few years later for something bigger (of course). It features a loose, leafy foliate design, with each petal or leaf holding a diamond. The edges of each petal have been minutely scored for a nice hint of granulation.
The diamonds are effectively channel-set, though this application of the technique is unusual since channel setting typically involves rows or consecutive sets of stones. Here, the method has the happy consequence of creating a lot of open space, unobstructed by prongs, bezels or setting beads. The end result is a lot more modern and a lot less fussy than your typical floral diamond ring.
The ten round, brilliant-cut diamonds are about 2.5mm each for a total diamond weight of at least 0.80 carats. Eytan rates the stones G for color and VS1 for clarity.
The slightly undulating split shank band is 3mm wide and 1.5mm thick. The ring is currently a size 6.5; resizing is complimentary for full-price buyers and negotiable otherwise.
The total weight of the ring is 5.1 grams, of which about 0.16 grams can be attributed to the stones.
The band is stamped "18K" for 18 karat white gold and signed "Eytan" by Eytan Brandes.
