Early Victorian Ruby, Emerald and Diamond Ring
About the Item
An early Victorian ruby, emerald and diamond ring, to the centre two old brilliant-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 0.5 carats in total, set between an emerald estimated to weigh 0.3 carats and a ruby estimated to weigh 0.4 carats, with an old brilliant-cut diamond to each shoulder estimated to weigh a further total of 0.4 carats, all to silver and gold cut-down setting, and rose gold shank, circa 1840, head measuring 0.8x1.8cm, gross weight 4.1 grams, Finger size N 1/2
This victorian ring is in very good condition, minimal abrasion to the facet edges on the emerald and ruby.
Unmarked tested as 18ct gold and silver.
A lovely ring full of historical character. This piece features two lively central diamonds stacked on top of each other flanked on either side by a pink-hued ruby and light green emerald, and two further diamonds. Colourful and charming, this piece is emblematic of early Victorian style. This piece is one of many lovely antique rings from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would make a unique and wonderful engagement ring.
