Georgian Dearest Acrostic Ring

About the Item

Here we have a charming multi gemstone cluster ring originally dating back to the Georgian period. All stones used at the front are rounded cabochon with an 'eight cut' diamond at the centre; whilst the stone at either shoulder is oval faceted. The first letter of each gemstone used here spells the word 'Dearest' i.e. diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and topaz. The Georgians and Victorians were very fond of sending secret messages to their loved ones and rings such as this provide an extra essence of romance. This piece showcases exceptional attention to detail via its neatly engraved backdrop and split 18ct yellow gold shank.
