About the Item
Understated, elegant and 600-odd years in the making; this asymmetric rose gold and silver open-shank cocktail ring was produced using an ancient Albanian technique in the heart of Sicily.
1.75 carats of rose-cut white diamonds, each placed into two blackened .925 silver disks. One disk is 11.35 mm across and the second is 17.08 mm. The band and base of the ring are 9-karat rose gold.
The photographed ring is a size 7.75 US/16 EU, but it can be re-made in any size on request. Custom pieces require one month to make and cannot be returned.

This collection represents an art form that corresponds to the rich history of Sicily's capital city. In the fifteenth century, Albanian immigrants arrived in Palermo, bringing with them a unique method of jewellery-making which relied on a chiselling technique for adding precious stones to metal. This method was taught and shared and preserved almost exclusively within the small city over 600-odd years and despite several invasions of the southern Italian island which brought the materials, fashions and techniques of the Spanish, French and other conquerors to Palermo, many of which influenced the "ceselato" method. What exists today is a jewellery technique unique almost specifically to Palermo.
Designed and hand-made at FANCS V in the heart of Sicily's capital city, Palermo. FANCS V is a three-generation Sicilian family jeweller that is now owned and run by husband and wife team, Simona Elia and Natale Vitale. Created by Natale's grandfather, FANCS V now features designs by Simona, who is a Milanese sculptor.

The FANCS V workshop is situated in the heart of Sicily's capital city, Palermo. The jeweller is a three-generation Sicilian family business owned and run by Simona Elia and her husband Natale Vitale. Created by Natale's grandfather, FANCS V has grown from a goldsmith shop into a design studio where Simona, who trained in Milan, contributes signature collections to complement the custom pieces Natale produces for a dedicated client base. For FANCS V, happiness is defined by the moment you receive your jewel and fall in love with it. Look for the company code PA266 stamped into all gold pieces, which indicate their authenticity.
