About the Item
This antique cocktail ring showcases 1.10 carats of untreated Burma rubies interspersed with glittering Old Mine-cut white diamonds. Burmese rubies are widely considered among the rarest of all gemstones. For centuries, the Burmese ruby has ranked among the most sought-after gems in the world, as stones that hail from these legendary mines are set apart by their incomparable "pigeon's blood" red hue. However, by edict of the King himself, the finest stones were never allowed to leave the kingdom, making these rubies exceedingly rare. The country’s borders were closed in 1962, further restricting trade and increasing the rarity of these magnificent gemstones. The three stunning examples in this ring are elevated by their classic 18K yellow gold settings.
