Antique Victorian Sugarloaf Lapis Lazuli Ring
About the Item
A two carat plus dome of Lapis Lazuli has characteristic flecks in the stone and looks like the clear blue of the night sky. The ring cut is know as a sugarloaf as it rises upward from the shank. A stunning geometric shank in 14 Kt.emphasizes the shape of the stone with geometric triangular zigzag lines on the shoulders. Looking at this ring taps into an association with Egyptian Revival or the coming of Art Deco. Periods do not always have clear boundaries and then you see the evolution of art forms. This is an eye catching ring and unisex to boot. The condition is excellent. You can size the ring as the shank is plain in the back. Currently it is size 6 1/4 to 6 1/2. Glorious will have the ring sized for you and pass the charge on to you. The stone rises 1/4 inch from the shank.
