About the Item
This Midcentury Opal Dome Ring features a central Round Australian Fire Opal at 9.5mm in diameter, secured in a 4-Prong setting. Opal, along with Tourmaline is the birthstone for those born in the month of October. Accented with 12 Colorless Nearly Flawless Round Brilliant cut Diamonds totaling 0.50 carats ranking a D-E Color & VVS2-VS2 Clarity, set in a four-part Cross pattern in sections of 3 Diamonds each. In an elaborate, infinite Braided Rope design, this ring truly reflects the Mid-Century period. Quite unusual in 14KT White Gold, as less than 25% of Opal Dome rings were constructed in White Gold, most were made in Yellow Gold. Dome rings were originally designed to portray a sphere, or a globe, in reference to the Earth. This woven / braided rope design was also originally incorporated in jewelry structuring in Ancient Roman times. Clearly well cared for, in immaculate condition to last for many years to come.
