18k Yellow Matte Gold Oval Brilliant-Cut 1.20ct GIA White Diamond Sand Dune Ring
About the Item
Inspired by sand dunes and calligraphy, the Dune Ring celebrates our nature, the invisible architecture. Following these stunning wind or water-driven structures of sand, Edward re-discovered the beauty of the Chinese language, an ancient pictographic writing system. Its character sand (沙) was created based on the form of the actual sand - an art in its own right.
The unforgiving and alien-like texture of a sand dune inspired me to apply a matte finish to the ring, and the off-centre 1.20-carat oval brilliant-cut diamond represents the illogical yet stunning pattern of the sand. Every angle of the ring pays tribute to the Chinese language a stroke-constructed and pictographic language.
The ring is handcrafted using 100% recycled 18k yellow gold. The diamonds are natural, ethically sourced, GIA certified and carefully selected by our designer and founder Edward Xu, then set by hand in our London workshop. This ring is tested and hallmarked by the London Assay office. If you wish to customise this ring with a different shape and size diamond or a different gemstone, please contact us.
