Antique Art Nouveau 1.66 Carat Diamond Ring
About the Item
This antique piece was crafted sometime during the Art Nouveau design period (1890-1910). The center diamond is an antique Old European cut and has been certified by the Gemological Institute of America. The diamond grades approximately L in color and VVS2 in clarity. The 18K gold setting features 10 sparkling rose cut diamond accents. The rose cut diamonds are carefully arranged in an iconic swirling bypass design. The Art Nouveau design period featured an appreciation for very naturalistic motifs. These iconic designs often featured sinuous lines and generous floral inspirations. This was a time after widespread industrialization and many had become disillusioned with their mechanized world. A yearning for a simpler pastoral existence was tangible and the inspiration for literature, art, and design during the Victorian era. This Art Nouveau diamond solitaire style is currently a size 6.
