Art Deco Marcasite and Onyx Sterling Silver Oval Ring
About the Item
Marcasite jewelry has been made since the time of the Ancient Greeks. It was particularly popular in the eighteenth century, the Victorian era and with Art Nouveau and Art Deco jewelry designers. Marcasite was used because it gave the impression of rose cut diamonds in artificial- and daylight with its sparkling look.
This gorgeous 1930s Art Deco marcasite and onyx ring is made in sterling silver. The silver oval shaped ring is set with onyx and marcasite in a decor of mil grain. It has a great design with one large rectangular onyx stone in its center. The sunburst openwork mil grain frame is inlaid with the beautiful sparkling marcasite. A piece to cherish yourself or to give as a gift to someone special.
The ring is in very good condition. US ring size 8.25, the front measures 22 mm in height, width 16 mm and weighs 6.19 grams. Stamped with the 925 sterling silver hallmark. Due to the differences in sizing between Europe and the U.S., we recommend resize your ring at your local jeweler.
The jewel will be beautifully gift wrapped.
