About the Item
Offered in good condition, a wonderful 18-kt white gold ring with a rectangular cushion cut sapphire of approx. 4.60 ct. This sapphire is “Colour-changing”. Origin: Sri Lanka. No indication of heating. ALGT certificate is included.
THE HOUSE OF GÜBELIN
The Swiss family company House of Gübelin, which is known for its outstanding high-quality jewellery, expertise in the field of gemstones and for being a supplier of some of the most sought-after luxury watch brands of our time, started in 1854. With the opening of a small watchmaking shop in the Swiss city of Luzern, the company kept growing and moving to larger locations in the city until it finally settled in the top location at the quay where the Gübelin boutique in Luzern is still located today. During the 1920s, Gübelin opened its own jewellery workshop and simultaneously founded a small gemmology laboratory to test the stones its jewellers used and to be sure about their authenticity. It also continued to make and repair fine watches for a demanding clientele and developed a reputation which soon reached all of Europe and beyond.
