Magnificent Art Nouveau Plique-a-Jour Diamond Gold Ring

About the Item

The extremely fine design & workmanship is typical of a René Lalique / Louis Aucoc creation. A superb example of the finest Parisian jewelers art from the 1900's in gold, plique-à-jour enamel & diamond. The stunning Japonism influenced design incorporates a sprig of flowering yew encompassed by a diamond studded C-scroll & set with a transitional brilliant cut 3.5 carat fancy champagne diamond, SI purity. The significance of the yew as a protector & token of the eternal has existed for over three thousand years & even to the present day has a powerful role in pharmacology. This ring is probably unique, a one off commissioned jewel.
