Vintage 1976 Bloodstone and Yellow Gold Signet Ring

About the Item

A fine and impressive vintage bloodstone and 9 karat yellow gold signet ring; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections. This fine and impressive vintage signet ring has been crafted in 9k yellow gold. The ring displays a plain and unembellished, rectangular cut-cornered bloodstone panel to the center of the setting. The flared ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the hallmarked ring shank. This 1970s signet ring is fully hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the maker's mark (SH), gold guarantee mark (crown), the mark for 9k gold - 375 - the Birmingham Assay Office hallmark (anchor) and the date letter for 1976 (B). NOTE: Bloodstone is a mineral more formally known as heliotrope. The classic, most recognisable opaque bloodstone is green jasper with red inclusions of hematite; these definable inclusions are said to resemble spots of blood. This vitreous stone has many traditions and superstitions associated to it, from the ability to slow bleeding of wounds, to bringing favour, courage and endurance to the owner. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone. Condition This men's signet ring is fine quality set with an impressive bloodstone panel. The ring is a very good gauge of gold and in excellent condition, with very clear full English hallmarks to the interior of the shank.
