This is a unique and early wrist watch by the iconic American house of Illinois Watch Company. They were renowned for their American railroad watches and as trend setters in wrist watch design. This piece, done with an experimental metal which was designed to resist corrosion and be inexpensive is in excellent condition. It still keeps dependable time as well and the dial is completely original, uniquely the numerals are blue. While it might be considered a woman's watch today, in its day it was a mans watch.
