Family Home by Brown Design Group in Santa Barbara, CA
This architecturally significant Montecito house was originally designed by architect Lutah Riggs (1896-1984) in the 1960s and recently revitalized and updated by Brown Design Group. Unlike the Spanish Revival style prevalent in the area, the design of this house is in the Japonaise style, with lots of sliding doors, detailed woodwork and screens, and gardens. Ryan Brown and Diego Monchamp restored the post and beam, flat roof house and brought it up to modern standards for a young family with a new baby, combining vintage and contemporary elements and leaving Brown Design Group’s signature style for generations to enjoy.
