Imparfait Design Studio collaborated with GTH Architects on this new construction project, set on a lakefront lot in suburban Chicago. The beautiful lake views inspired the Imparfait team to carry the feeling of a Wisconsin vacation home throughout the house, merging casual comfort with the elegance of a primary residence for the owners and their children. The interior design is heavily influenced by late 70s boho hippy meets disco glam. New home construction and design can take years, so Imparfait avoided Pinterest and Instagram trends that might be dated once the home was complete and opted for vintage rugs and furnishings, even a dining set found on E-bay, to make the home feel less brand new and trend specific. Not only was Imparfait responsible for all interior finishes and design, but the team also worked with the client on selecting the roof, exterior stucco and paint colors, stone, windows, and doors.
