Carlo Forcolini Floor Lamp 'Polifemo' for Artemide, Italy, 1983

About the Item

Floor lamp ‘Polifemo’, designed by Carlo Forcolini for the production company Artemide in Italy in 1983. The name for this lamp came from Polifemo, a musical opera about the mythical cyclops Polyphemus, written by the Napolitean composer Nicola Porpora. The white ‘cyclops eye’ on top can be tilted to have a different reflection and shade effect. Some laquer loss on the white disk and oxidation on the foot but in decent condition. H: 217 cm W: 51 cm D: 30 cm
