Alf Svensson, Pair of Domus Lounge Chairs, DUX, 1950s

About the Item

Pair of lounge chairs designed by Alf Svensson for DUX / Ljungs Industrier and their furniture line Bra Bohag in the 1950s. The model was shown at the very well known H55 exhibition in 1955 in Helsingborg, Sweden which is one of the highlights of Swedish mid-century design. Black lacquered tubular steel frame with rope as seating support under the seat cushions. DUX also produced a variation with a wooden frame that is much more common on the market. This tubular steel examples are very rare. New grey upholstered seat and back cushions and new rope. Very good vintage condition with light ware on the black frames consistent with age and use.
