2006 Versace Runway Finale Champagne Sequin Silk Hourglass Halter Gown w/Tags

About the Item

An absolutely gorgeous autumn-winter 2006 Versace documented runway gown that originally retailed for $20,905. Versace is one of the world's leading international fashion houses. Gianni Versace redefined fashion by combining it with rock 'n' roll, art and celebrity. By merging the worlds of fashion and entertainment, his shows became pop-culture events. This beautiful champagne silk chiffon 'Donna' titled gown still has her original tags attached and is a fantastic example of the brand's genius. This is the finale look for the collection, number 55. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; the highest quality pale champagne silk chiffon which has been elaborately pleated with bands of satin and shimmering pearlescent sequins. The embellishments alone must have taken days to complete. This graceful yet seductive gown has a low-cut plunge halter bodice. I love the Medusa logo back neck closure which is a signature Versace touch. My favorite design element is the draped thigh-high slit skirting for the most dramatic movement. We added many pictures so you can appreciate this masterful achievement. Would make a sensational red carpet or bridal moment! Measurements Marked a European 40 Bust: 34 inches Waist: 26 inches Hips: up to 36 inches Total Length: 59 inches This 2006 Versace designer runway finale gown is in excellent never worn condition with original tags. Perfectly working side zipper. A rare wearable piece of fashion history with wonderful runway documentation.

  • Iconic 1996 Madonna 'Evita' Film-Worn Beaded Ivory Silk Couture Archival Gown
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
Own a major slice of celebrity and film history. Madonna wore this extraordinary ivory beaded couture gown for her portrayal of Eva Perón in the unforgettable 1996 film "Evita". Madonna campaigned to play the role of Evita and used her popstar status to acquire it. Many other actresses were considered to play the role such as Elaine Paige, Liza Minnelli, Cher and Meryl Streep. The film was a huge success for Madonna, who up until this time had not fared well in her acting exploits. Madonna even won a Best Actress Golden Globe Award for her performance as the First Lady of Argentina. Madonna wears this gorgeous gown in the scenes at the Inaugural Ball as she dances and movingly sings the song, "High Flying, Adored." The fabric itself is a masterpiece; high quality silk satin that has been heavily adorned with hand set red jewels, pearls, rhinestones and glass beads. I love the chic cut-out neckline which rests on the collarbone and scoops low in the back. The gown flows into an hourglass nipped waist where it breaks into a unique zig-zag design. The piece work to create the skirting in particular is extraordinary. The yard and yards of luxurious silk satin personify the feminine ideal in clothing. We photographed the garment with and without a petticoat so you can see the true fullness. Not only was this gown an iconic look for the character but Madonna was also featured in the October 1996 issue of Vogue magazine wearing this gown. The gown was originally made for the actress Carol Lawrence and then worn by actress Daryl Hannah while accompanying John F. Kennedy, Jr. to meet the Queen of England. We were thrilled to find a picture of this meeting as well. With Madonna worn garments fetching extremely high prices at auction (her 'Desperately Seeking Susan...

    By Nolan Miller
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
A breathtaking Nolan Miller Couture unworn with tags embroidered silk organza sculpted bridal gown dating back to the early 1990's. Nolan Miller was an acclaimed costume designer best known for his work on the long-running series Dynasty. Miller was nominated six times for an Emmy Award, winning 'Outstanding Costumes' in 1984 for the Dynasty series, which also set a fashion trend for glamorous high society gowns. This stunning Nolan Miller creation from his exclusive couture line is the perfect solo in the spotlight 'Barbie Doll' bridal look. This showstopper has serious allure with that hourglass mermaid silhouette. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; the highest quality large-scale ivory floral cutwork embroidered silk organza with a matching ivory silk underlay. I adore the fully corset boned satin trimmed sweetheart plunge strapless with adorable back-bow. A curved nipped waist with fitted mermaid slightly trained skirting creates the perfect amount of drama to this timeless garment. It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day haute couture. This would make an epic red carpet or wedding moment. Ethereal late 1940's Saks Fifth Avenue creme goddess gown from the Old Hollywood era of glamour. This stunning silk-chiffon garment has so much couture detail, you can tell it was made with expert devotion. The boned sweetheart plunge bodice is hand-pleated and hand-stitched into place with a unique asymmetric one-shoulder draped train. As pictured, there are a few different ways you can style the sash. Sparkling white glass-beads and sequins, in a gorgeous vine motif, cascade down the front. I love the hourglass nipped-waist which flows into a beautiful full sweep. Truly, this gown would have taken days to finish. A pure work of art and a study in dressmaking technique which reminds me of the famous Jean Desses. Breathtaking and timeless; I totally imagine this gliding down the red carpet!
